PERSONAL INFORMATION:
- Real Name:Edward Allan Brock
- Alias: Allan, Brock, Venom
- P.O.B: Oakland, California
- Occupation: Amateur Mixed Martial Artist, Construction Worker
- Marital Status: Single
- Face Claim: Brock Lesnar
SOCIAL INFORMATION
- Current Social Status: Civilian, ex-Villain
- Identity: Secret
- Current/Known Associates: Peter Parker, Spider-Man
- Current/Known Adversaries: A lot
- Experience as Hero/Villain: Six years experience as Venom
ABILITIES:
Brock is motivated, very physical and headstrong. Stronger than the ordinary human due to his intense workout schedule, Brock keeps himself in peak physical performance as he's aspiring to become a professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter. Also, a very gifted writer- Brock hardly dabbles in that area after being terminated from The Daily Bugle.
As a human, nothing out of the ordinary other than his temper which he's managed to curb in recent years.
STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES:
As a human, Brock's body has failed him. On a full ride scholarship out of high school to Rice University, it wasn't long before he shredded his knee, which in turn lost him his college education. That also led to Brock fighting a constant state of depression. As a child he was beaten by his cold father, psychologically he's not the strongest of people. However in recent years, with the help of Peter Parker, Brock has made advancements and has come to terms with his past and now uses his outlet of fighting as his release.
As Venom, the symbiote feeds on negativity which amplifies Brock's suppressed anger. He is able to climb walls, unleash a web like substance like Spider-Man which is totally organic, and his strength, speed and agility goes off the charts.
Extreme heat and sound-waves can weaken the symbiote and cause it to detach from Brock, where it is in it's weakest form.
BACKGROUND:
Edward Allan Brock, born in Oakland, California has had it rough to say the least. During birth, Brock's mother died from complications which put a severe strain the relationship with his father- causing major conflict and leaving Brock to grow up physically and psychologically abused. Despite the broken home life and need for his father's approval, Brock is a gifted [albeit troubled] student and excels in sports. Very disciplined on the football field, on the wrestling mats or on a basketball court, Brock earned an athletic scholarship to Rice University but tore his ACL and MCL as well as ruptured his achilles leaving him unable to play- thus, losing the status.
Due to his smarts, Brock managed to take up Journalism as writing was a true passion of his. Eventually after graduation he'd float around city to city, taking freelance jobs until he decided to settle in New York City after managing to land a job at The Daily Bugle. Instantly butting heads with the 'pencil-necked geek,' Peter Parker who ALWAYS stole Brock's glory [his words] with pics of Spider-Man in the greatest of feats, professional jealously turned into a personal vendetta, Brock begun to display the same behavior his father showed- he bullied Peter out of spite time and time again.
It wasn't until a faithful night in August when- as part of cutbacks, Brock was laid-off from The Daily Bugle, he found himself at the mercy of the one constant in his life- his Catholicism. As he sat at stairs of the church, he asked for forgiveness for all he's done, all the bad and wicked and begged to a new lease on life as he was slipping. At the end of his rope, with a pistol in his pocket- he asked God to give him a sign if there was anything worth living for- that's when from the heavens, 'black rain' fell upon his head and changed him forever.
The black rain was actually an alien, a symbiotic creature that needed a human host to survive. With Brock at the edge of sanity- angry, frustrated.. looking for one last shot, it made the PERFECT opportunity for the shunned [more on that later] symbiote. Feeling rejuvenated, Brock unleashed horrors [not to his knowledge] as the symbiote managed to close off memories as it took Brock's body out during sleep. While he was up, Brock didn't known the assaults and brutal attacks he was carrying out all as the symbiote seemed keen on getting its hands on Spider-Man- but what seemed to wake Brock up, was the sudden knowledge that Peter Parker- the same Parker that was kept over him at the Bugle BECAUSE of the Spider-Man pics and stories.. WAS, Spider-Man. Brock gave into the urges and surrendered himself to the symbiote, finally becoming 'one' which led to disaster after disaster as Spider-Man/Peter Parker found himself attacked constantly by what was now known as... Venom.
It wasn't until after the millionth battle that Spider-Man managed to get to Eddie Brock and not the symbiote, telling Eddie that it was his fault [Peter's] and he's sorry. From the termination at The Daily Bugle to the curse he carried as Venom, it was all on Peter Parker- but that knowledge wasn't known- and it set Brock off even more. Coming to understand that the 'gift' of 'black rain' wasn't intended to be for him in the first place [as Peter was the original host, but forced it off of him, leaving the symbiote basically on the 'rebound'] this fueled Brock's rage as he attempted to kill Spider-Man, but his effort was thwarted and he was detached from the symbiote again- this time with the help of brilliant minds, Spider-Man managed to contain the alien with technology and to this day, has done so.
Once free from the alien, Brock has seemed to have turned over a new leaf- he credits Parker's empathy and honesty with helping him do so. Despite not having the advantage that the symbiote provided, Brock has made major strides in bettering his life- even going as so far as to stop going by 'Eddie' and 'Edward,' instead choosing to go by Allan or simply Brock to show he's a new person- free from the demons and rage he's suffered in the past. Using a non-stop physical activity route to keep himself busy, Brock turned to combat sports to fill the void in his life- despite being a new man, that hyper competitive attribute can't be forgotten- he's been very good as a MMA fighter as he continues to storm ahead and keep his life together. He looks to Peter as hope, as the two have become friends since Peter stripped Brock of the symbiote- he's someone Brock can depend on when he's nearing the ledge psychologically.
.. however, despite all the tests run- all the assurances made, part of the symbiote IS free and DOES exist within Brock- it's in hibernation as it's too weak to force Brock to once again do it's bidding. It's a secret Brock holds onto and fights against- as much as he trusts those who've come to help him, Brock understands that in order to become stronger- part of the old him needs to exist.
But will it stay contained?
